Bologna center-back Sam Beukema has emerged as the ideal candidate to replace veteran star Francesco Acerbi at Inter Milan.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Dutchman is in ‘pole position’ to fill the ex-Lazio ace’s shoes.
Francesco Acerbi will likely depart the San Siro at the end of the season.
Despite recently penning a short-term extension, the 36-year-old’s fitness issues have cast doubt on his reliability.
Therefore, Inter could sever ties with the Italian defender in the summer.
At 26, Sam Beukema is at his peak.
However, he remains a significant first-team asset at Renato Dall’Ara.

Considered indispensable by head coach Vincenzo Italiano, Beukema would only leave for a substantial transfer fee.
Indeed, Inter would likely need to allocate up to €30 million to convince Bologna to sell their prized asset.
But Simone Inzaghi’s charges are in no position to bargain.
They desperately need defensive reinforcements, especially with Stefan de Vrij’s future also in the balance.
Beukema would be a decent addition, considering he has excelled in Serie A since arriving from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.
