Report: Chelsea make contact with entourage of Champions League star, blockbuster transfer possible | OneFootball

Chelsea are one of three clubs to have met with the entourage of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo ahead of a possible summer move.

The Blues are once again braced for a busy summer and could sell as many as seven or eight players to fund their business.

Chelsea are facing a critical window and are looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea interested in Rodrygo

Whilst a striker is the main priority the Blues are also in the market for a winger, and there’s set to be a bit of a reshuffle in the wide areas.

Noni Madueke is said to be attracting interest, whilst the Blues are yet to take a final decision on making Jadon Sancho’s loan permanent.

Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Jamie Gittens and Nico Williams, whilst Ben Jacobs reported the Blues view Rodrygo as a market opportunity.

However, Spanish outlets Fichajes have reported the Blues have met with the entourage of the Brazil international.

The report adds Manchester City and Arsenal have also done the same, with Chelsea said to view Rodrygo as a key player in their new project led by Cole Palmer.

The 24-year-old has scored 23 goals for Real Madrid this season, whilst he’s also a key player for Brazil, but his time in the Spanish capital could be coming to an end.

Gittens the main target

Chelsea need players who are going to not only bring experience and leadership, but will improve the first team, and Rodrygo ticks those boxes.

However, the strongest links have been with Gittens, who’s despite having plenty of potential is still only 20 and learning his craft.

Chelsea are said to be prepared to offer Gittens a contract which would see his current salary doubled, with Dortmund said to want around €60m.

Whoever Chelsea end up signing it’s vital they bring in someone with quality who can make a difference and help take the team to the next level.
