Chelsea face Ipswich in a must win game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as they look to secure Champions League football and there’s been some early team news according to reports.

The Blues all but secured their place in the semi finals of the Conference League with a 3-0 win against Legia Warsaw on Thursday evening.

Enzo Maresca made a number of changes and was able to give midfield duo Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo a much needed night off.

Chelsea lost the reverse fixture 2-0 at Portman Road in December to hand the Tractor Boys their only home win of the season to date.

The Blues need the three points in order to stay in the top four, and are level on points with Newcastle, although the Magpies have a game in hand.

Chelsea have struggled for consistency since the turn of the year and haven’t scored a first half goal since the 4-0 win against Southampton at the end of February.

London World have provided some early team news ahead of the game with Chelsea set to be without Wesley Fofana, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Marc Guiu is also set to miss out despite a positive injury update from Maresca earlier this week, whilst this game will likely also come too soon for Romeo Lavia, with Mykhailo Mudryk still suspended.

Chelsea will be able to call upon Cole Palmer after Maresca played down any injury fears following his half time substitution against Legia Warsaw.

Fans will be hoping to see a similar performance to Thursday’s second half where Maresca’s men played with pace and intent and looked a constant threat in attack.

The Italian’s style of play has come in for criticism this season, but at this stage of the campaign with so much at stake it’s all about getting the results and points on the board.
