Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski was spotted limping last night after Poland’s UEFA Nations League encounter against Croatia which ended in a 3-3 draw.

The Barcelona centre-forward did not start on the night with manager Michal Probierz revealing that it was due to a minor injury.

Strangely, though, the veteran star came on as a substitute in the second half, only to pick up a knock after a rash challenge from a Croatia player, causing concerns within the Barça camp.

Reports earlier today revealed that the 36-year-old, who has been in top form this season, was a doubt for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Sevilla.

‘Moderate optimism’ with Lewandowski

Now, journalist Carlos Monfort has brought forward a fresh update on Lewandowski’s fitness condition after the mishap from last night’s game.

As per the report, the Polish national team’s medical services believe that the strong knock that he received yesterday will not prevent the Barça striker from playing in the match against Sevilla in Montjuic.

Despite the fact that the 36-year-old was seen limping noticeably in the mixed zone after the game, the doctors are convinced that in the next few days, the pain will reduce and he will be ready to take the field for his club.

Lewandowski is on his way back to Barcelona and is expected to land sometime later this afternoon.

Once he arrives at the Ciutat Esportiva, the ace goalscorer will undergo fresh tests, but everything suggests that he is only dealing with a knock and will be fit to face Sevilla.

Lewandowski has made an exceptional start to the season under new manager Hansi Flick, already bagging 12 goals from 11 matches in all competitions.

With crucial matches coming up against Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid in a very short space, Flick and Barcelona will be hoping that their ace striker will be fit and raring to go.
