Yesterday was quite a good day for FC Barcelona. The Blaugranes paved their way to the final of the Spanish Super Cup after getting a 2-0 win against a difficult Athletic Club side.
In this game, the Catalans saw Lamine Yamal get back to the pitch, and he once again showed his exceptional qualities with a goal in the second half. Similarly, Wojciech Szczęsny and Gavi, two important players who are not yet starters, also impressed in this game.
But beyond this game, the day was also important for Barcelona as they got a precautionary ruling from CSD that allowed them to get Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor registered for the time being.
There is no doubt that this is a significant achievement for the Blaugranes, and these two players will now be able to play in the upcoming final on Sunday.
However, it needs to be kept in mind that this problem has not yet been permanently solved, and according to Mundo Deportivo, the CSD has a deadline to resolve this case in three months, which will end on 7th April.
In these three months, Barcelona’s fate in three important competitions, i.e., La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and Copa del Rey, will be determined.
By the time the deadline approaches, up to 30 rounds would have been played in La Liga, while the Catalans could also have paved their way to the final of Copa del Rey, as its semi-final is scheduled to take place on 2nd April.
In the Champions League, Barcelona can reach the quarter-finals by that time, as the Round of 16 of the competition is scheduled for 4/5 and 11/12 March. The first leg of a potential quarter-final is set to take place only a day after this deadline, i.e., 8th April.
Hopefully, the court’s decision will come in favor of Barcelona, and this registration issue will be solved for good. Otherwise, the Blaugranes will have to once again face a highly uncertain situation in this matter, and that too at a crucial point in their campaign.
