Reports Milan could change system for Verona after Feynoord defeat | OneFootball

Reports on Thursday claim that Milan and head coach Sergio Conceicao could be tempted into switching systems for the upcoming Serie A match against Hellas Verona, following the 1-0 defeat by Feyenoord in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

A third minute error from Mike Maignan handed Igor Paixao and Feyenoord a 1-0 advantage at De Kuip on Wednesday evening, which means that the Rossoneri now have their work cut out for them in next week’s return leg in San Siro.

Maignan, as well as Milan’s ‘fab four’ of Rafael Leao, Joao Felix, Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez came under criticism in the aftermath of the Feyenoord defeat, and now reports from certain outlets claim that Milan could change shape ahead of their match against Verona in an attempt to get back to winning ways.

As the 4-2-3-1 has not always worked out for Conceicao during his time at Milan, Calciomercato.com suggests that he could be tempted to switch to a 4-3-3 for the Verona match in the league on Saturday evening.

If that were to be the case, then one of the ‘fab four’ would likely have to be dropped. Gimenez’s spot as the starting centre-forward is relatively secure, which means that one of Leao, Joao Felix or Pulisic would have to be dropped to the bench.
