Oaktree, the owners of Inter, and RedBird, the owners of AC Milan, are currently fearing the worst, as the San Siro plans have still not been finalised.

It will not be a surprise that the stadium plans have, again, taken another turn, and it is not a good one for either Milanese club, as time is running out – though, how sorry can you really feel, after all, this is their own doing.

As Milan News write this afternoon, RedBird and Oaktree are ‘seeing ghosts’ due to the delays in finalising the agreements for San Siro, and there are several reasons why this is the case.

Firstly, the clubs want a termination clause if permits are not achieved by a certain date, both to build the new stadium and to destroy the old San Siro. Secondly, the duo feel that the destruction of the current stadium should be conducted by the council.

Finally, there is an ongoing investigation into the finances behind the stadium’s purchase, with it also being suggested that the deal has already been done, something which Tuttosport reported this morning with headlines reading, “San Siro tied already since January?”, as Milan News relays in their report.

While it is certainly a frustration, there is no one else at fault other than the two clubs who have dallied with the decision for months now. Beds have been made, and now they need to do everything to get things sorted.
