Roma are zeroing in on Alessandro Antonello as their new CEO to replace Lina Souloukou, who stepped down about a month ago, primarily due to the criticism stemming from Daniele De Rossi’s dismissal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the current Inter CEO was in town on Thursday. He came in from Switzerland, one of the home bases of the Giallorossi owner Dan Friedkin in Europe. The Nerazzurri played in Bern in the Champions League. He didn’t attend the Dynamo Kyiv game, though.

The Roma patrons got to know Antonello firsthand during the ECA meetings, the clubs’ association. The 59-year-old is aligned with Nasser Al-Khelaifi in a few political matters, like the capital club’s brass. He worked for Puma before being hired by the Nerazzurri.

He might not be the only official to leave Inter in the coming months, TuttoSport informs (via Calciomercato). Oaktree simply added their representatives to the board when they took over. They might be more drastic and overhaul the management fairly soon.

Chief marketing officer Luca Danovaro and head of the communication area Matteo Pedinotti could be let go. The latter was close with former president Steven Zhang. The American fund hasn’t formally decided yet, but Antonello could decide to leave and take the Roma job beforehand. He’s currently in the lead over Sassuolo’s Giovanni Carnevali and Bologna’s Claudio Fenucci, who already spent time in the Eternal City when James Pallotta was the governor of the team.
