Serie A side Roma picked up a 1-0 win over Empoli in the Serie A and Matias Soule impressed once again.

The Argentine has had a very good run of form in the last few weeks, doing well in the Serie A and in the Europa League. He had scored in the first minute and this came weeks after his goal against Parma.

This has come after there were rumours about a move to Fulham but the player rejected the approach, as he was keen on making it at Roma.

He spoke to DAZN about the game and he was asked about his increase in prominence in the Roma side and he said, via VoceGiallorossa:

“I do what the coach asks me to do. I also played as a fifth, so I can do both, even on the left where I started playing. Obviously I like having the freedom that the coach gives me to move on the right, but as I said I play everywhere.”

When asked about whether he feels like an important member of the side now or not, the versatile attacking midfielder stated:

“As I said, thanks to the trust of my teammates and the coach, who has given me since he arrived, every time he makes me play he asks me to be calm and to do the things I know how to do.

“This gives me confidence and is very important to me, I thank them for the help they give me on the pitch.”

In all competitions this season, the ex-Juventus man has had three goals in the Serie A and has one assist to his name. His decision to stay is now paying off.
