There were angry fan protests overnight following the back-to-back elimination from the Champions League to PSV Eindhoven and Coppa Italia to minnows Empoli.

Coach Thiago Motta said he was ashamed of that performance on Wednesday and decides to make changes, dropping Vlahovic to restore Kolo Muani as the centre-forward.

Francisco Conceicao picked up a thigh injury and is out of action, joining Douglas Luiz, Renato Veiga, Nicolò Savona, Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal and Arek Milik on the absentee list.

At least Pierre Kalulu returns to the bench after more than a month out.

Teun Koopmeiners is also dropped, as Wes McKennie keeps the trequartista role behind the striker.

Nonetheless, a victory here would not only consolidate fourth place for Juventus, but close the gap from leaders Inter to just six points.

Verona are four points clear of the relegation zone and hope to take another important step towards safety following the huge 1-0 win over Fiorentina.

Daniel Mosquera picked up a muscular problem in training and has not made the trip, along with Martin Frese, Suat Serdar and Abdou Harroui.

Defender Domagoj Bradaric returns to the side after missing the Fiorentina match through suspension.

Coach Paolo Zanetti sits out a touchline ban, so assistant manager Alberto Bertolini calls the shots.
