Manchester United face Leicester City in the FA Cup round at Old Trafford this evening.
Read on as we take a look at seven facts regarding the fixture.
United have defeated Leicester twice at Old Trafford this season, but they have never beaten the same opposition three times at home in a single campaign.
United need to overcome that record to advance to the next round.
This will be Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first meeting against United in his managerial career.
He will become the sixth former United player to face the club as a manager. Mark Robins, Steve Bruce, Paul Ince, Ole Gunnar Solskaer and Mark Hughes are the others.
The two managers have never faced each other in any competition before today’s clash.
Van Nistelrooy was previously in charge of PSV Eindhoven. He did not take on Amorim while he was at Sporting CP.
There have been 139 encounters between United and the Foxes, but only three have been in this competition.
United won the first two meetings, while Leicester won the third encounter at the King Power Stadium in 2021.
The United captain has an impressive goal-involvement tally against the Midlands side.
He has chipped in five goals and five assists in 10 appearances against them. It is his joint-best record against any Premier League side.
Referee Michael Salisbury has been appointed to be in charge of the encounter. He has never officiated the Red Devils in this competition.
However, he has done so twice in the league, and United won on both occasions, with both games played at Old Trafford.
Man United have a good home record in this competition.
They have not lost a game on their patch during the regulation time since losing to Arsenal in the 2014/2015 season.
