This is according to The Star, who exclusively revealed that the 19-year-old is on trial with the club ahead of a potential move.

The young midfielder had come through the ranks at Bradford City, but Wednesday's potential offer could give him the chance to make the jump to the Championship.

The Owls are currently sitting in 10th in the second tier after three wins in their past six games put them in sight of the play-off places.

However, they seemingly haven't capitalised on this in January with the blue and white side of the Steel City still yet to confirm any arrivals.

While Jeffreys wouldn't be counted as a typical winter window addition, he could be a bright spark for the future and snapping a player up previously targeted by category one academies would be no mean feat.

As detailed previously, The Star are reporting that Jeffreys is currently on trial with the club.

He was named on the bench for Wednesday's under-21s in midweek, where they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Coventry City's respective side.

With a further two weeks until their next fixture against Crewe Alexandra, Jeffreys will be hoping that he can remain in and around the side in a bid to impress those at the club.

This could see him earn a contract and according to the news outlet, they are weighing up a potential deal for the youngster.

Before his current trial with the Owls, Jeffreys was with Bradford City, having joined the club's academy in 2012 at just seven-years-old.

Since then, he has worked his way up through the various age groups at Valley Parade and made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy in 2023 as he came on with 10 minutes to go against Grimsby Town. He later earned his first start in a match against Manchester City's youth team, where Bradford secured an impressive 3-0 victory over the Cityzens.

Following these performances, he made a loan move to Scottish League Two side Elgin City and featured six times for them, scoring once before a hamstring injury put him out of action.

Back in Bradford, he was offered a short-term deal, but it now seems that his future potentially lies with the Owls as he tries to impress the development squad coaches.
