The Sky Sports column ‘Jones Knows’ has given some interesting analysis and commentary on what is currently the position at Newcastle United.

The column makes predictions on what will happen at certain Premier League matches and also debates other matters/issues at clubs as well.

However, unlike the usual ex-pro predictions, that are usually simply based on how ‘big’ a club is and whether or not they won the previous game, this one has proper analysis and insight, not lazy assumptions.

The Sky Sports ‘Jones Knows’ column looks at the matches from a betting perspective and has been concentrating on this Newcastle United game at home to Bournemouth.

Lewis Jones (who is the Sky Sports expert behind the ‘Jones Knows’ column) has highlighted some major underlying factors that could / should have a big bearing on this Newcastle v Bournemouth game.

“Nine wins on the spin and their centre-forward scoring 12 goals in his last nine games – things are looking glorious for Newcastle and Alexander Isak.

“However, winning runs and hot streaks always come to an end and at the prices this might be the time to jump off the Newcastle train if you’re aboard it.

“Unbeaten in 10 games, Bournemouth remain an underrated team by the markets and to get them odds-against here at 5/4 with Sky Bet on the double chance is too good to pass up.

“Prediction: Newcastle 1 Bournemouth 1”

Interesting analysis as always, from the Sky Sports expert.

However, only one problem.

Our Sky Sports mate has been telling everyone to jump off the Newcastle United winning train at every stop on the line!

Working back in time, these have been his most recent Newcastle United score predictions in Premier League matches:

“Score prediction: Newcastle 2 Wolves 2”

“Score prediction: Spurs 2 Newcastle 2”

“Score prediction: Man U 1 Newcastle United 1”

Score prediction: Newcastle 1 Aston Villa 2″

Anything can happen in any match BUT you have to go back to November when United last failed to score at least two goals in a game. These last 11 NUFC games in all competitions have seen Eddie Howe’s side score 31 goals.

Whilst also worth pointing out that Bournemouth have already conceded 18 goals in their Premier League away matches, of the top 16 in the Premier League, only Villa (19 conceded) have leaked as many or more as the Cherries.

My feeling is that Bournemouth will almost certainly have to score more than once today to stand any chance of getting a point or better.
