Southampton fullback slammed for repeating avoidable error that led to 3-1 loss

It's been going worse to worse for Southampton defender Yukinari Sugawara. Last night, the full-back was one of the Saints' poorest performers, being at fault with a handball again.
Tell me, what's that one thing that disappointed you the most from yesterday's Southampton loss? Though I'm no fortune teller, I can still predict that it wasn't the result itself.
Why so? Because in a campaign dampened with 22 losses, a 23rd won't matter that much.
Instead, the more pressing issue is the Saints' band-aid solution strategy. Despite having a plethora of aspects to improve, the Southampton side betters one or two areas at best.
And what does it lead to? Repetitive mistakes that subdue their rare match positives as well.
Take, for instance, the recent handball blunder by Southampton defender Yukinari Sugawara.
In the first Southampton vs Liverpool clash this season, it was Sugawara's handball that cost the Saints crucial home points. Sadly, let alone improving, the fullback recreated that action at Anfield again.
Seems like the Saints team hasn't heard this in a while, "When things go wrong, don’t make them worse." Had they, they wouldn’t have committed that handball, which deepened their troubles after a controversial penalty call.
Needless to say, boss Juric didn't go easy on Sugawara's repetitive blunder against the Reds.
As quoted by the Daily Echo, Juric said: "Yeah, I think he was a little bit pushed today, but he has to be more careful. You cannot give a penalty away in this kind of situation."
Now not to target Sugawara, but the full-back has lacked accuracy, committing frequent errors on and off the field.
Remember the defender's Brighton matchday claim, where his performance set him up for embarrassment later. And now, this mistake, that's sure to turn a majority of the St. Mary's faithful away from him.
Accept it or leave it, but the upcoming games will be quite decisive for Sugawara. If he doesn't improve, maybe the Japanese ace will be offloaded and his initial heroics forgotten.
Definitely, no Saints fan wants that, still wouldn't retract if the situation demands it.
