Arsenal have a sell-on clause on Aaron Ramsdale which will have them fork out a good chunk of Southampton's profits if they end up selling the keeper.
You can't help but agree given Southampton's situation, they can't sign up a fierce contest with any of the Premier League clubs. But, ever wondered what about their fanbase? Interestingly, there's a match.
Now, you might giggle at this, but never deny this, the other fanbase is Arsenal supporters. And why so? Because Mikel Arteta and co never manage to keep their lofty promises to the group.
Ultimately, while the Saints fans are upset over their bottommost spot, the Gunner fans remain frustrated as to how they always finish second.
Still, while one can poke Arsenal for not delivering their onfield claims, the club is a different entity off the field. Interestingly, not only do they fulfil their promises here, but are a shrewd force altogether.
Don't agree on this? Just see how they convinced Southampton in their best interest despite looking the initial sufferers.
We talk of the Aaron Ramsdale last summer switch from Arsenal to Southampton.
Now, in case you don't remember, the Saints signed Ramsdale for a £18m initial fee in August 2024. Still, the fee looks quite modest, right? But, here's the catch.
As per The Mirror, Arsenal had enabled a sell-on clause on their former number one to benefit from his future sale. Notably, that's going to happen as Southampton is tipped to part ways with Ramsdale this summer.
See what's happened? Arsenal's foresightedness had them aware of what was to happen, and now they will feast on their rewards for the same.
On the other side, Southampton aren't left with much to do than blame their fate, which keeps tricking them again and again. Eventually, they would have to comfort themselves, assuming that's the price for prizing one of the best goalkeepers in the country.
