As things proceed, Southampton boss Ivan Juric's sacking feels close. But, hey, what's this? The Saints may again make a mistake by appointing out-of-form boss.
At times, Football feels an intriguing sport. Hadn't it been true, how come we see unexpected turnarounds for the better or the worse so swiftly?
Well, don't be confused, we talk of Southampton only.
Remember the situation just months ago? Every Saints fan is excited for a new era to begin at the club. After all, in Russell Martin's role, ex-Roma boss Ivan Juric's incoming promises for the better ahead.
But now, see the flip situation that has happened in reality. And within months, concerns of a poor appointment are all over St. Mary's.
Considering the current situation, no one would disagree that Southampton's Juric call has been a blunder.
Now, take a pause and tell me how should a Premier League club rectify such a mistake committed. Your obvious reply would be to right the wrong with a more credible appointment this time.
Sadly, that's what Southampton isn't en route to, even now.
According to The Sun(via Daily Echo), Southampton sees Championship boss Danny Rohl as Juric's replacement.
Now, many of you may wonder, once the club's favorite target, why it would be a mistake. Well, that's because of the manager's depreciating form lately.
Going by numbers, Rohl's Sheffield Wednesday has just won 2 of their last 10 games in the second division. Now, these stats aren't that bad, but if you put this in perspective, they definitely feel alarming.
To note, this performance comes from the manager who has gathered around 2 years of experience in the Championship now.
Thus, it may sound harsh, but giving a difficult Southampton job to Rohl may not be a wise choice currently. Particularly, when the club has a brilliant option in Simon Rusk available.
