Arsenal travel to Southampton on the final day of the 2024-25 Premier League season on Sunday, 25th May, at 4pm (UK time). Find our match preview and best bets which include a 10/1 bet builder below.

Arsenal -1 Match Handicap (4/5 with Sky Bet)

Arsenal haven’t conceded more than twice in any of their 57 matches in all competitions this season. Only twice in the Premier League era has a side gone through an entire campaign without conceding 3+ goals in a game, with Manchester United doing so in both 2007-08 (57 games) and 2017-18 (56 games).

Nine of Southampton’s last 11 defeats in the Premier League have been by a two-goal margin or bigger. Arsenal were much improved against Newcastle last weekend and have the ability to cruise past Southampton on the final day of the campaign.

Martin Odegaard To Assist & Flynn Downes 2+ Fouls Won (9/1 with Paddy Power)

Martin Odegaad has been in good form over the last few weeks. The Norwegian has recorded an assist in four of his last five Premier League outings, against Ipswich, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Newcastle. With Arsenal projected to score numerous goals on Sunday, the Arsenal man looks slightly overpriced in the anytime assist market.

No player has been shown more yellow cards in the league this season than Flynn Downes (12). However, I think cards will be in short supply on the south coast, with both players and officials potentially on the proverbial beach. Downes has won 2+ fouls in three of his last four outings, and pairing him with Odegaard to assist pays 10/1 with the Paddy Power bet builder feature.

How both teams go into Southampton vs Arsenal

Southampton breathed a huge sigh of relief after avoiding becoming the worst Premier League team of all time. However, it’s still been an utterly embarrassing season for them, sitting bottom of the table with just 12 points and two wins on the board. The Saints will hope to restore a small amount of pride in their final fixture, though hosting the Gunners leaves them with little chance to do that.

As for Arsenal, a season that promised so much has fizzled out. After the disappointment of losing to Paris Saint-Germain, the Gunners have secured Champions League football for next season. Arteta’s side came out 1-0 winners against Newcastle at the Emirates last weekend and are fancied to get the better of Southampton at just 1/4 in the match result market.

Southampton team news

Albert Gronbaek, Charlie Taylor and Ryan Fraser all have slim chances of returning for the final couple of games of the season.

Arsenal team news

Mikel Merino will return from suspension on the final day, but Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all out for the season. Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz are all touch and go for the trip to the south coast.

Southampton vs Arsenal head-to-head

The 3-1 victory earlier this season actually ended a three-game winless run against Southampton for Arsenal, with the Gunners drawing two and losing one of the previous three.
