According to Fichajes, Spurs are prepared to make a 'large investment' to bring the Spanish midfielder to N17.

Furthermore, the report claims that Tottenham are leading the race, having shown the strongest interest in the 21-year-old.

It is said that the North London club are willing to submit a €75m (£62m) offer for Barrios.

Tottenham’s midfield is already well-stocked with top talents such as Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, the latter having recently scored the winner against Manchester United.

However, the midfield has not been spared from the injury crisis plaguing the squad, and setbacks to players like Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma may push the club and Ange Postecoglou to consider a signing like Barrios.
