The infamous supercomputer has spoken. While it has predicted Southampton to finish bottom, the points tally is a compliment to the Saints.
As it stands, Southampton are rock bottom of the Premier League table. Despite being in the second half of the season, Southampton haven't even broken the double-digits mark in terms of points. Well, they are not even close to it, with only six points on the board.
So, as it stands, the Saints are at serious risk of becoming the worst team in Premier League history. In doing so, they would take the privilege away from Derby County.
So, where has the supercomputer predicted Southampton will finish and how many points will they finish on, in this make-believe world?
According to 90min, the Opta supercomputer has predicted Southampton will finish bottom of the table (obviously). However, there is some rejoice in the fact that this forecasting sees the Saints finish with 19 points. This would steer them clear of being the worst team in Premier League history - Hooray!
Obviously, in an ideal world, Southampton would finish outside of the relegation zone. There was a slim chance of this when Ivan Juric was announced as the manager. However, he has not yet implemented the football he wishes to play and now it seems a dead-cert for the Saints to be relegated.
It wouldn't be nice to see the players give up hope. After all, there is a minute chance that relegation can be avoided but it would take a miracle. That said, it would be a miracle if there is even a slither of hope in the Southampton dressing room.
