AC Milan have again been linked with a move for Junior Firpo, years after they were first mentioned as suitors for the defender.

The first time that Milan were mentioned as being admirers of Firpo was all the way back in January 2021, when the hunt to sign a deputy to Theo Hernandez began. The links continued until the summer, but he ended up moving to England and joining Leeds United.

Now, TBR Football believe that Milan are among ‘a host of options’ for Firpo, who is out of contract with Leeds at the end of the season and ‘now looks set to leave after four years’ despite their promotion back to the Premier League.

Leeds were hoping that they could get the 28-year-old to pen fresh terms having returned to the top flight, but it appears that he wants to test the market and will have no shortage of options, both in England and abroad.

Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham United have ‘had contact with his representatives’ as per the source, but there is also interest in Italy and Spain. Barcelona ‘could consider bringing him back’ while Milan are ‘ready to move on from Theo Hernandez’ and have also looked at him.

Real Betis and Atletico Madrid are also interested in exploring a deal for Firpo, especially with it being a free transfer.
