Every season brings along with it new challenges for FC Barcelona to deal with and keep in mind. Beyond just what happens on the football pitch, there are a lot of other pressing matters to address as well. However, in many ways, things that happen on the pitch can also impact things away from it for Barcelona.

One such pressing matter right now is the registration of certain players and contract renewals for others. Both are pressing issues that have to be immediately addressed and figured out in order to avoid any sort of long-term complication in the future.

However, beyond just the renewal of players like Pedri and Gavi, there is another youngster whose renewal talks have recently gained attention. Lamine Yamal, aged 17, is a Barcelona superstar and is already seen as the face of the future for the Catalan giants.

His current contract runs until 2026 and that is why extending his stay is crucial for Barcelona. Fortunately for the Catalan giants, they already have a great update in regards to what the future holds for the young winger and his stay at the club.

As highlighted by Barca Times, Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes has recently revealed and confirmed that Yamal will indeed be staying at Barcelona and that there are no lingering doubts at all:

“Lamine Yamal will soon extend his contract with Barcelona. There’s no doubt about that. His future is clear.”

This will come as great news for Barcelona as they continue to work on extending his contract. Already a guaranteed starter in the team, Yamal is expected to achieve great things in his career. Fortunately, he already has an impressive trophy collection to show for himself at the age of 17.

Having won the European Championship with Spain during the summer, he was named the Young Player of the tournament. Since then, he has also gone on to win both the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy award, as well as having finished in eighth place when it came to the Ballon d’Or rankings.

Currently, however, the player’s immediate priority will be to recover as soon as possible and get back on the pitch. Having suffered an ankle injury not too long ago, Barça desperately needs him to make a swift return and help the team return to winning ways.
