As the summer transfer window draws nearer, Barcelona face growing uncertainty about whether to sign a new forward.
With the January transfer period now behind them, Deco will soon begin planning for the next season. One of the critical decisions on the agenda will revolve around strengthening the striker position.
Hansi Flick is keen on bringing in a player who can make a significant impact, offering both goals and creativity on the field. There is also ongoing debate about whether this is the right time to begin transitioning the centre-forward role.
Robert Lewandowski remains a pivotal figure for Barcelona, and his renewal is almost certain.
The Polish striker wants to continue at the club, his impressive goal-scoring record supports his case, and Flick continues to value his contributions, even as his playing time is being carefully managed.
However, Lewandowski will turn 37 this summer, and while his physical condition remains impressive, there are internal discussions about his long-term role.

He is still regarded as one of the best number nines in the world, but the coaching staff and some board members have observed that the team performs well even without him on the pitch.
Ultimately, Lewandowski’s own stance will play a significant role, and for now, he appears content in Barcelona and optimistic about winning major titles with the club.
Barcelona must soon decide whether to pursue certain transfer options they have been monitoring. One prominent name on their radar is Viktor Gyokeres, a striker who has been making waves across Europe.
The club has a strong relationship with Sporting Lisbon, who retain a 50% stake in any future sale of Francisco Trincao. Sporting Lisbon also maintain interest in Vitor Roque, who faces challenges in continuing his loan spell at Betis.
Financially, a deal for Gyokeres could be viable, with Sporting potentially willing to sell for around €65 million.
However, from a sporting perspective, there are differing opinions within the club. Despite his impressive record of 34 goals in 34 games, Gyokeres does not have unanimous support.
Some decision-makers prefer other options, such as Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, due to his versatility. So considering the economic realities, the summer transfer window will be a crucial moment to act if Barcelona are serious about Gyokeres.
