Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their attacking unit with the signing of Lorient striker Eli Junior Kroupi.
The 18-year-old is highly rated across Europe, and he could prove to be a quality long-term investment for the North London outfit. According to Football Insider, Lorient will “consider selling him for the right price” this month. Tottenham will have to shell out £20 million if they want to get the deal done.
The reported asking price seems reasonable for a player of his potential in today’s market. Tottenham certainly have the resources to pay up, and it will be interesting to see if they follow up with an official offer for the player before the window closes.
Spurs need more depth in the attack and the youngster could be the perfect understudy to Dominic Solanke. The England international is currently sidelined with an injury and Spurs need more options at their disposal.

The 18-year-old Ligue 2 forward could be tempted to move to the Premier League. It would be an exciting step up in his career, and he could fancy taking up the challenge. Tottenham are a big club with an exciting project and they could nurture him into a future star. Regular football in England will certainly accelerate his development. He has been linked with other English clubs as well.
Kroupi has nine goals and two assists to his name this season and his numbers could improve when he is playing alongside top-class players at Spurs. With James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski creating chances for him, he could score more goals.
It remains to be seen how the situation develops. The January transfer window closes tomorrow and Spurs will have to act quickly. They have had a disappointing season so far and they need to improve the squad if they want to finish in a respectable position on the table.
