According to a report from L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Tottenham have sent a €26 million offer to Burnley FC for Maxime Estève (22). However, the Championship side are holding out for €36 million for the former Montpellier HSC defender.
Estève only joined Burnley last January. Initially, the deal was on loan but it became permanent over the summer when the Lancashire club paid a fee in the region of €12 million to sign the defender.
Tottenham are not the only club that are interested in Estève. Earlier in the window, Wolverhampton Wanderers were linked with a move for the fullback. They were reported to have asked what conditions Burnley would need to be met to facilitate a move this winter.
Tottenham have been active in the dying stages of the window as they look to bolster a squad that has failed to perform this season. The club currently sit 14th in the table far away from their initial goal of qualifying for the Champions League.
