Tottenham are sweating on the fitness of Dominic Solanke ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against West Ham.
The striker scored in Thursday’s 3-1 Europa League semi-final first leg win over Bodo/Glimt but then went off with a quad injury in the second half.
Manager Ange Postecoglou will not risk the striker ahead of next week’s second leg, and has confirmed plans to make a number of changes to protect players ahead of the Europa League decider.
“Dom is not too bad,” Postecoglou said of Solanke’s injury on Friday. “Still a bit sore from last night but we don’t think it’s anything serious. Obviously a doubt for the weekend.”
Meanwhile, Lucas Bergvall has been ruled out for the season after an ankle injury he picked up in training this week, after which he was spotted in a foot brace and using crutches.
James Maddison, like Solanke, was forced off in the second half of the Bodo/Glimt win, having also scored, and is due to undergo a scan on a knee injury. It has been described as a “concern” by Postecoglou and will keep him out of the West Ham match at the very least, with Spurs eagerly awaiting a full prognosis.
Captain Heung-min Son is working daily on the grass as he edges towards a return his way from his ankle injury.
Having missed the first leg against Bodo/Glimt, a return is being targeted for the second leg, so he will also not feature against West Ham.
Radu Dragusin is out for the season after ACL surgery.
Tottenham predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Gray, Danso, Davies, Spence; Sarr, Bissouma; Odobert, Kulusevski, Tel; Richarlison
Injured: Bergvall, Son, Maddison, Dragusin
Doubt: Solanke
Time and date: 2pm BST on Sunday, May 4, 2025
Venue: London Stadium
TV channel: The match will not be televised in the UK.
