Tuttosport: West Ham ‘very interested’ as Milan consider sale of €30m defender

Malick Thiaw is in demand and AC Milan could cash in on him this summer to fund a move for a new centre-back, a report claims.
According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Thiaw could leave in the summer together with Fikayo Tomori. The switch to a three-man defence was one that the German hoped would guarantee him a starting spot, and yet he now seems to be at the bottom of the pecking order.
Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic are more certain to stay for 2025-26 and beyond, therefore. Thiaw meanwhile is reportedly being monitored by Bundesliga teams such as Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen and others.
However, the Premier League may be an option for the former Schalke man because West Ham are ‘very interested’ in acquiring him. Faced with a significant offer of around €30m, Thiaw could be sold, and it would fund his replacement too.
Who could arrive in his place? Milan are said to be observing young defenders such as Diego Coppola (Verona), Caleb Okoli (Leicester City) and Cristhian Mosquera (Valencia).
Defensive depth is important, especially when playing three centre-backs, so it remains to be seen if the management plan to make just one addition in the event of an exit.
