FC Barcelona are set to face their Catalan neighbours Girona in their next La Liga game after having won 3-0 over Osasuna in the rescheduled match on Thursday.

While Hansi Flick is expected to make some changes in this game, the Catalans will be keen to get the full three points from this game, especially as Real Madrid won their game against Leganes last night, and are once again level on points with the Blaugranes on the league table.

However, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, there are two Barcelona players who will looking forward to this match in particular, i.e., Eric Garcia and Inigo Martinez, as they can both reach personal milestones.

For Garcia, in addition to playing against the side where he spent the last season on loan, this match will be further special as he will play his 100th game with the Blaugrana club if he gets to play this match against Girona.

His first match for the Catalan club came on August 15th 2021, as Ronald Koeman lined him up for a game against Real Sociedad. He had 36 appearances in his first season back at Barcelona, another 32 in the second season, 2 in 2023-24 before leaving on loan, and has another 29 appearances this season.

On the other hand, if Inigo Martinez also gets on the pitch for this game, he will complete his 400 appearances in the first division.

The Basque defender made his debut in La Liga on 27th August 2011 with Real Sociedad under Philippe Montainer. His second game in the first division came against Barcelona, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

In total, he made 205 appearances with La Reale before he made the move to Athletic Club in 2018 for €32 million, after the Blaugrana club had ruled out his signing. He played with the Catalans for 5 seasons, before making the move to Barcelona as a free agent.
