ST. LOUIS – The United States claimed a 4-2 win over Jamaica in the second leg of their quarterfinal’s series in League A of the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League, winning 5-2 on aggregate, on Monday at CITYPARK in St. Louis, Missouri.
The U.S. looked to be inspired by its home support to build on a 1-nil first-leg victory in Kingston, Jamaica, last Thursday.
Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the 14’ to give the Stars and Stripes the lead. Pulisic got a left-footed touch on the ball to meet a long ball over the top from Weston McKennie.
Pulisic secured his brace in the 33’ to extend the lead for USA with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box, capitalizing on another assist from McKennie.
Ricardo Pepi struck with a right-footed shot just outside the box in the 42’ to extend the lead by three.
Demarai Gray cut the deficit for Jamaica in the 53’ following a delivery from the right wing by Isaac Hayden.
Timothy Weah retook the three-goal lead for the hosts in the 56’, bringing down a cross from Yunus Musah before unleashing a powerful right-footed shot to send the ball to the back of the net.
Gray scored again in the 68’ to bag a second goal for the Reggae Boyz, with a left-footed shot from the center of the box for the definitive 4-2 scoreline.
The United States won the series, 5-2 on aggregate, and advanced to the 2025 CNL Finals and 2025 Gold Cup.
Jamaica concluded its 2024/25 CNL campaign and moves on to the 2025 Gold Cup Prelims.
