Claudio Ranieri rushed onto the pitch after the final whistle of Roma’s 1-1 Europa League play-off draw with FC Porto, screaming at his players and pushing them to get his message across.
The coach was visibly worried that his squad would get into even further trouble with German referee Tobias Stieler, who had been flashing cards around with wild abandon throughout the match.
It had already resulted in Bryan Cristante being sent off for a second bookable offence, leaving the team down to 10 men for the final 20 minutes.

With a member of Ranieri’s staff shown the red card on the touchline in added time, the coach was concerned that his players were ready to confront the referee asking for an explanation that the official was evidently in no mood to give.
Despite it being by no means a particularly violent or ill-tempered game, the referee still flashed eight yellow cards for Roma players – and a red – with three for the FC Porto side.
Ranieri rushed to the centre-circle the moment the final whistle was blown and shouted ‘go away, get out of here, go!’ at his men, while jostling some of them physically away from the danger zone.
It’s all boiling over 🤬 Claudio Ranieri is absolutely incensed at full-time, as his Roma side earned a share of the spoils in Porto.
