Vinícius Jr. rejects Real Madrid contract renewal offer | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have seen their first contract renewal offer to star attacker Vinícius Jr. knocked back by the player and his entourage.

That’s according to Real insider Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, who has on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

Amid mounting interest in Vinícius’ signature by way of the Saudi Pro League, the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu have understandably ramped up efforts to tie the Brazilian down for the long-term.

A meeting, in turn, was recently held between the parties at Valdebebas.

During the sit-down, Florentino Pérez and co. put a renewal offer on the table, featuring a salary increase from the €15 million per year which Vinícius currently earns.

The offer, however, was rejected by the 24-year-old and his representatives.

Fresh discussions have in turn been pencilled in for the weeks ahead.
