Two up-and-coming members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona made the difference on Wednesday, as Hansi Flick’s troops booked their spot in the final of the Spanish Super Cup.

Barcelona, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.

After making the trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Blaugrana locked horns with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club in the semi-finals of the Super Cup.

And, when all was said and done, Flick and co. kept alive hopes of a first title of the season.

This came owing to goals on the part of young pair Gavi, and Lamine Yamal.

First, inside the 20-minute mark, midfielder Gavi was picked out by Alejandro Balde, making no mistake with a clinical finish into the bottom corner from close range:

Then, early in the 2nd-half, Gavi turned creator, slipping a perfect pass through for Lamine Yamal, who turned in wonderful style before directing an unerring strike into the Athletic net:
