FC Barcelona and Inter Milan settled for a 3-3 draw as they faced each other in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie last night.
The Italians were the first to draw blood and went two goals up by the 21st minute, but the Catalans were quick to fight back and had levelled the scores before going into the half-time break. The two teams then scored one goal each in the second half as well, and ended the game on level terms.
Lamine Yamal started the fight-back with his goal after going 2-0 down, and it was Ferran Torres who once again got on the scoresheet for the second goal for his side on the night, which levelled the scores before half-time.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spanish forward also talked to the media after the game. While he rued the way the team started the game, he was quite happy with how they reacted after going two goals down:
“We came out asleep and paid a high price for it, but the team reacted very well — coming back from two goals down is very difficult and deserves credit.”
Ferran Torres was also not very happy with the team’s defence of set-pieces:
“A semifinal can be decided on set pieces, and they scored two goals that way — we need to improve in that aspect for the second leg because they’re very strong at home. There, we have to match their intensity.”
The former Manchester City forward also explained the celebration after his goal:
“I tried to do my part with the goal, and the celebration was because I’m passionate about the NBA.”

However, he did not have a lot to say about Lamine Yamal’s performance, which was also praised by the Inter Milan manager:
“Lamine? He was motivated, you could see it — we already know what Lamine is like.”
With this performance, Ferran once again showed that he is ready to contribute to the team whenever Hansi Flick calls upon him, irrespective of the occasion. Hopefully, he will continue to perform at this level, as Robert Lewandowski is not expected to return for the second leg of this tie either.
