West Ham United are trying their best to sign a few players before Monday’s deadline and Evan Ferguson remains a major option for them.

The Hammers’ boss, Graham Potter, has made it clear that he will not sign players just for the sake of it. But at the same time, West Ham desperately need to sign a new striker.

According to Ben Jacobs, West Ham are in “advanced talks” with Brighton already to sign Ferguson, and he is their “top target”.

Premier League rivals Chelsea are also monitoring the situation, but the Blues have not made any approach yet.

Jacobs wrote on X: “Evan Ferguson remains West Ham’s top target in the next few days. Already in advanced talks with Brighton. Chelsea monitoring situation but no direct approach yet.”

Ferguson was seen as one of the brightest young talents a few years back, but he has failed to justify the hype.

Potter knows him very well, and the Hammers boss thinks that he can get the best out of the young striker.

The 20-year-old has struggled for regular game time at the Amex Stadium, and Brighton have already decided to let him go should they receive a good offer.

Potter gave Ferguson his debut at Brighton, and there is a possibility that the duo could be reunited again.

Interestingly, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, and Arsenal are all looking to add strikers to their ranks, and Ferguson could be in demand before Monday’s transfer deadline.

West Ham still hold an advantage over others due to the presence of Potter and fans will hope that the Hammers boss can convince him to move to the London Stadium.
