The winter transfer window has come and gone for Paris Saint-Germain and the capital club was busy securing a target from this past summer while offloading players who weren’t part of the project under Luis Enrique.

PSG secured one of the world’s top wingers, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, from Napoli for just €60 million this winter. The capital club added a boost to an attack that’s currently on a hot streak led by Ousmane Dembélé, who has scored back-to-back hat-tricks.

Moreover, the Ligue 1 leaders offloaded players and sold two players to recoup a significant total fee that helped offset the purchase of Kvaratskhelia, which caps off their window as winners.

Kvaratskhelia was the only arrival, but PSG was busy working the phones to offload unwanted players.

The French champions also earned a solid €46m profit from midfielder Xavi Simons’ permanent move to RB Leipzig for €50m and sold defender Cher Ndour to Fiorentina. Additionally, they loaned out Randal Kolo Muani to Juventus, Marco Asensio to Aston Villa, and Milan Škriniar to Fenerbahçe.

Moreover, it’s because of the shrewd moves that ESPN labeled the Parisians as one of the winners from the winter transfer window. The four-letter network also labeled Aston Villa, Marcus Rashford, and FC Barcelona’s Dani Olmo as winners from this past window.

Aston Villa made shrewd deals to improve their squad, including bringing in Asensio and Rashford while making a profit on selling 21-year-old striker Jhon Durán for €77 million to Al-Nassr.

Rashford is considered a winner after securing a fresh start at Aston Villa under Unai Emery, while Olmo also comes out on top this winter as Barcelona successfully registered him to play.
