With one matchday left in the Genero Adran Premier Phase One, Wrexham have gained ground on Swansea City in their bid for a top-half position.
Swansea City 0-0 Briton Ferry Llansawel Wrexham 1-0 The New Saints (Att: 363)
Briton Ferry Llansawel are five points short of leaders Cardiff City, following Wednesday’s goalless draw away to Swansea City.
Goalkeeper Courtney Young and her defence managed to thwart City, over whom they still have a five-point advantage in the table.
Wrexham are up to fifth and within two points of the Swans, after defeating third-placed TNS 1-0.
Lili Jones’ struck from outside the box two minutes before the end of the 90, means Wrexham will secure a top-four spot at the end of Phase One if they beat Swansea later this month.
Swansea City and The New Saints clash in the Genero Adran Trophy final this Sunday, 9 February. Kick-off at Newtown FC is 5.30pm, with the match broadcast live on S4C.
