It was an evening to remember on Saturday for Yang who played an important role in Celtic’s 5-2 victory at St Mirren. Despite only entering the fray in the 65th minute, the South Korean was named Player of the Match after having a major impact on proceedings by scoring two goals.

Man of the Match Yang looks delighted with his award after coming off the bench to star for Celtic in the 5-2 win at St Mirren. Photo social media.

It was two fine goals from the winger, who’s main focus is to be more of a goal provider, and more impressively both goals were headers, not a skill you would attribute to a 5ft 9in wide player.

Yang’s showing in sharp contrast to Adam Idah’s miserable afternoon

The South Korean showed great awareness to make himself available in the box and perfectly executed both goals like a seasoned striker. One of the men who made way as Yang was entering proceedings was Adam Idah, our 6ft 3in, £9.5 million Centre forward, who not for the first time seemed incapable of making the sort of impression Yang did.

I like Adam as a player, I really do, but like every other player who is underperforming, he needs to face some criticism, And the fact that Yang is outperforming him in the scoring stakes at this moment in time, should really be a bit of a wake up call for the Irish international.
