Paolo Scaroni was won over by Sergio Conceicao in his first meeting with the new AC Milan head coach, and it was due to seven words.
In the summer, Milan looked to hire a coach who would dominate games, and hired Paulo Fonseca, despite having the option of hiring Conceicao in the summer. Six months later, the decision was seen as a mistake and Fonseca was sacked.
Reports throughout his tenure had suggested that talks with other managers were likely, with the Portuguese unable to impress regularly with his team, so when Conceicao was announced as the new head coach on the same day as Fonseca’s dismissal, it was no shock.
Fonseca’s compatriot has already given fans more hope, and his system is being bought into by the players, which are huge bonus. He has also won over the management, which is a key thing in January, especially when considering the Tomori situation.
Winning over the management was done easily it seems, and Milanisti Channel today has reported that the CEO was won over Conceicao by just a few words, “You have to be hungry to win”. So far, his players are showing that hunger, coming back to win three games out of four, which is a frustrating, yet impressive record, certainly.
