SK Beveren have announced that on loan Crystal Palace forward Ademola Ola-Adebomi has returned to his parent club. The 21-year-old played nine games for the Belgian second tier side during his short spell which was meant to last until the end of the current season. However, an injury prevented him from featuring and now that the side have signed players in his position, the likelihood of him getting more game time is limited. Ola-Adebomi leaves the side having not scored in the nine appearances he did make.
Beveren picked up striker Lennart Mertens from the now defunct Deinze a few weeks ago in their bid to gain promotion back to the Pro League. The side have been in the second tier since relegation back in 2021. They are currently sat in fifth place in the table, which is a play-off spot. Only the top two in the Challenger Pro League gain automatic promotion to the Belgian top flight, and Beveren are currently 10 points adrift of RAAL La Louviere in second place. Sides that finish between third and sixth must play a play-off, with the winner of the final then playing the side that finishes third from bottom in the Pro League.
