La Liga giants Real Madrid will see the club’s defensive ranks massively reinforced ahead of the fast-approaching FIFA Club World Cup.

That’s according to Relevo, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

The subject of defensive personnel has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines at the Santiago Bernabéu for some time now.

This comes after Carlo Ancelotti’s squad was rocked by a whole host of injury blows.

As things stand, all of Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy and David Alaba are sidelined with respective fitness problems.

Dean Huijsen has since been signed from Bournemouth, to add some much-needed reinforcements to incoming boss Xabi Alonso’s squad.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the good news for Alonso will not end there…

As per a report from Relevo, the expectation is that all of Rüdiger, Alaba and ACL pair Carvajal and Militão are set to be called up for the Club World Cup.

The latter pair will not play prominent roles, but their respective presences alone will no doubt bring a smile to the faces of Real Madrid fans the world over.
