Idah struggled again against St Mirren on Sunday, but he deserves a run of games to prove himself and to rediscover his goalscoring form we saw last season…

Adam Idah was handed a rare start against St Mirren on Sunday and he didn’t exactly take his chance to impress. While he certainly tried his best, he yet again failed to do what he’s there to do and that is put the ball in the back of the net.

£9.5 million transfer fee

At a reported £9.5 million transfer fee we are expecting some goals from the Irish international especially after his prolific loan spell last season. Yes it may be putting pressure on Adam Idah, but he’s playing for a club where pressure is the norm and he really has to start producing the goods.

To be fair to Adam he doesn’t exactly get a consistent run of games in the side, and has to make do with  appearances from the bench so perhaps a run of starting games would be more beneficial to him.

Hopefully Idah gets his chance against Dundee United

Adam could get that chance again against Dundee United on Wednesday night and hopefully he grabs the opportunity by getting in among the  goals. Kyogo isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders either and Adam needs to up his game so we have some extra cutting edge up front.

Nicolas Kuhn is our main goal threat at the moment and Daizen Maeda has certainly scored his fair share this season.  We need more from our target men, particularly Adam. Let’s hope he starts producing the goods, and a run of games can help him do just that.
