In a massive turn of events, reports from SPORT suggest that Saudi club Al-Hilal has approached Real Madrid forward Rodrygo’s representatives regarding a possible summer transfer.

This move comes as the club seeks to make a statement in the transfer market following Neymar’s departure.

After a troubled stint in Saudi Arabia, Neymar terminated his contract to return to Santos. Now, Al-Hilal are eager to bring in a high-profile replacement to bolster their attacking options, with Rodrygo emerging as their top target.

Reaching out to Rodrygo

The powerful Saudi side has reportedly reached out to Rodrygo’s entourage, offering what is described as a massive financial proposal.

They have also contacted Real Madrid to discuss the possibility of a transfer and determine a valuation for the talented Brazilian forward.

Despite the ongoing winter transfer window, Al-Hilal appear ready to break the bank to secure the services of a global star.

Recently, there were rumours about Saudi clubs pursuing Vinicius Jr., but the focus has now shifted firmly to Rodrygo. Al-Hilal are determined to turn the page after Neymar’s disappointing tenure and sees Rodrygo as the perfect solution.

A move would not be easy

Interestingly, the club is well aware of the complexities involved, particularly given the timing of the potential transfer and Rodrygo’s value to Madrid.

Rodrygo’s current contract with Real Madrid runs until 2028, with a hefty release clause set at an eye-watering €1 billion.

While Al-Hilal may present a lucrative offer, Rodrygo has gradually fought his way back into Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, even though Mbappé and Vinicius remain the first-choice forwards.

Real Madrid have a history of entertaining offers when they see merit for all parties involved. While the club is open to discussions, Rodrygo may have less interest in moving, given his desire to continue his development in Europe.
