Ally McCoist has been speaking about Cole Palmer and has revealed one thing he’s noticed that puts him on a “different level.”
Palmer has been nothing short of a revelation since arriving at Chelsea in the summer of 2023 and he’s not only established himself as Chelsea’s best player, but also one of the best in the league.
The 22-year-old has once again been Chelsea’s main attacking threat this season, with 14 goals and six assists, although he’s currently struggling for form.
The England international hasn’t scored in his last eight games for the Blues and missed the first penalty of his senior career in the win against Leicester earlier this month.
Palmer missed the defeat to Arsenal through injury and it’s understood he’s set to undergo a second scan to determine how long he will be out for.
Chelsea will be hoping it’s nothing serious and Palmer can return for the game against Tottenham on April 3rd, with the Blues facing a difficult run-in as they look to qualify for the Champions League.

McCoist is a big fan of Palmer and has noticed one thing he does that puts him on a “different level” to other players.
“I’ve looked at him a few times,” he told talkSPORT.
“Even when the play is at the other end of the pitch, you look at him, and he always has a look before he receives it.
“I look at Foden; I think he receives it as well as anyone on the half-turn; Palmer comes into that category as well. His awareness of space and people around him is a different level.”

John Terry has likened Palmer to Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, and the game seems to come to the attacker so easily.
The return of Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke after the break should help Palmer rediscover his best form, because Chelsea need him fit and firing for the final sprint to the finish line.
