After an impressive performance in the 2-1 win over Brentford, Wes Brown has called upon Marcus Rashford to add more goals to his game.

After recording his 40th assist for United at the weekend, setting up Alejandro Garnacho for a beautiful volleyed finish, Rashford entered the history books.

As far as attacking players go, Rashford can be described as an all-rounder. He brings goals and assists to the table when in form.

One of the biggest talking points this season has been Rashford’s form. He’s on an upward trajectory and it is clear he has more confidence than he had 12 months ago.

Former United defender Wes Brown believes Rashford’s confidence will return once he starts scoring goals regularly again.

In Ten Hag’s first season at United, Rashford was on fire, producing 30 goals and 11 assists across 56 matches. The aim is for the England international to return to those levels after contributing just eight goals and six assists across 43 matches last term.

Brown believes Rashford can get back to the best version of himself, and we certainly hope that he is right.

Speaking about Rashford’s recent form, Brown said (via Metro): “I think Marcus Rashford played really well on Saturday – him and Alejandro Garnacho were the standout players for me. He just needs to keep putting the work in – Erik ten Hag is continuing to pick him in the starting 11 and he remains a threat to other teams.

“Obviously in an ideal world he will begin to score a little bit more like he was doing a couple of seasons ago, but he won’t give up and will keep on trying. All he needs is a couple of games where he finds the back of the net and his confidence will be back, which is so important for a player like him.

“He’s an amazing talent when he’s in full flow, and I back to him to get back to those levels.”
