The hopes of Premier League giants Arsenal of maintaining their advantage over Real Madrid in the upcoming meeting between the sides have on Tuesday been afforded a boost.
This comes amid confirmation that Thomas Partey has been cleared to join the rest of Mikel Arteta’s squad on their journey to Spain.
Arsenal are of course primed to return to action on the continent on Wednesday night.
The Gunners will make the trip to the Santiago Bernabéu, for the 2nd leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.
Mikel Arteta’s visitors head into the matchup boasting a considerable advantage, owing to a 3-0 triumph in last week’s first leg at The Emirates.
And as alluded to above, in efforts to hold onto as much in their clash with the kings of the comeback, Arsenal, it appears, will be able to depend on the contributions of Thomas Partey.
Midfielder Partey was for his part forced into a premature departure from proceedings over the weekend, as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford.
The Ghanaian’s status to face Real Madrid, in turn, was thrown up in the air.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, though:
‘Thomas Partey, travelling to Madrid with Arsenal squad ahead of the Champions League game.’
