Jorginho did not hide his frustration after Arsenal’s goalless draw against Nottingham Forest, a result that leaves Mikel Arteta’s side increasingly adrift in the Premier League title race. Despite dominating possession and creating twice as many chances as their hosts, the Gunners once again failed to turn control into goals.

“Yeah, a frustrating draw because we wanted to win,” Jorginho admitted. “We pushed as much as we could, we had the chances, we didn’t win and that’s the frustrating part. And then you need to also look and be realistic that this is a tough place to come and win. I think only two teams came here and won and we could have been one of them.

“We controlled the game, they didn’t create anything really dangerous, they only had counter-attacks and I think we deserved to win, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen.”

With Liverpool extending their lead to 13 points at the top of the table, Arsenal’s title ambitions are all but gone barring a collapse of historical proportions from Arne Slot’s men.

Jorginho, though, is focused on the immediate task at hand.

“We need to keep pushing, we need to keep going,” he said. “We need to find the solutions to score, to create more chances in the box, more shots. Everyone needs to step up and do a bit more for the team.

“The willingness of the team is huge and you can see how hard everyone tries and for sure we are going to carry on that way.”

The 33-year-old midfielder remains a key asset in Arteta’s squad, offering experience and composure in high-pressure moments. But while he remains committed to Arsenal’s cause for now, his future is increasingly uncertain. His contract expires in the summer, and Juventus are preparing to make a move to bring him back to Italy on a free transfer.

Thiago Motta has identified Jorginho as a priority signing to strengthen their midfield, and negotiations are expected to accelerate in the coming weeks. Flamengo have long been pushing for a pre-contract agreement, but the player’s entourage has been clear—his preference is to remain in Europe.

A decision on his next move is unlikely before the end of the season, but the growing interest from Juventus, Fiorentina, and Besiktas suggests that Arsenal will have to fight if they wish to keep him beyond the summer.

For now, Jorginho insists his only focus is Arsenal, but with the club’s title challenge faltering and major European sides circling, his long-term future remains an open question.
