Arsenal ended their run of three winless games in the Premier League with a victory over Chelsea before the March international break.

The Gunners will take the break to recharge ahead of the crucial run-in. It is also a chance for the players to strut their stuff for their national teams.

One Arsenal player caught the eye with his display, although it will not surprise the North London faithful.

The England Under-21s locked horns with Portugal in a friendly, and 18-year-old Ethan Nwaneri made his full debut. He lit up the night with a fantastic performance and a well-taken goal.

England took an early lead through Hayden Hackney before the Arsenal starlet doubled it in typical fashion. He collected the ball from Jobe Bellingham, veered onto his left foot and curled in a delightful strike.

The goal, which Sky Sports called a piece of brilliance, was just the tip of the iceberg. Nwaneri, an Arsenal Hale End Academy graduate, dazzled with his touches and incision, piercing through the Portuguese midfield.

Nwaneri kept things ticking and played a massive role in the win. Arsenal fans hope to see him replicate this performance in North London in the coming weeks.

Arsenal fans were livid when the young midfielder was dropped from the starting line-up for the Chelsea game. He had been influential for a long stretch, but Gabriel Martinelli returned and immediately usurped his place.

It is one of the criticisms of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. He has been reluctant to use his willing and able youth team, opting for more experience.

Nwaneri will be keen for another chance in the team when Arsenal lock horns with Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on April 1.

The Gunners have not beaten Fulham in their last three meetings and will be determined to change the narrative and keep the pressure on Liverpool at the summit.

Arsenal want to close the 12-point lead Liverpool have at the top and potentially overtake them, but it is easier said than done.
