Aston Villa saw off Manchester City 3-1 to lift the FA Youth Cup in front of more than 25,000 fans at Villa Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
City got off to a dream start when Matthew Warhurst pounced on a loose ball after Harrison Miles nicked it off the keeper, slotting home just two minutes in.
But Villa hit straight back – just a couple of minutes later, TJ Carroll nodded one in from a corner to bring things level.
On the half-hour mark, another Villa corner wasn’t cleared properly and it dropped kindly for Cole Brannigan, who had loads of space to lash in a cracking volley into the top corner.
City kept pushing but never really found their rhythm, and Villa made it three midway through the second half. Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba weaved through the defence and tucked it past Oliver Whatmuff, sealing the win as City struggled to mount a response.
