Aston Villa sit in pole position for highly sought-after Feyenoord player | OneFootball

As per Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are currently leading the race for young Feyenoord striker Zepiqueno Redmond. Previously, AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth were all mentioned as major candidates for the attacker.

The talks between the various parties are reportedly ongoing, and Aston Villa see Redmond as a striker with enormous potential.

Several clubs from England and Italy are said to be interested in the striker, but the team from Birmingham are currently leading the race. While it was previously announced that AC Milan were seriously interested, it is not known how far the Milanese are in talks with Feyenoord. With all things considered, Redmond himself still has to make a choice.

Redmond is officially a free agent after June 30, and he has not yet extended his contract with Feyenoord. The 18-year-old striker made his official debut for the Rotterdam first team this season. However, he has competition with both Ayase Ueda and Julian Carranza ahead of him. Redmond has so far played in four Eredivisie matches and twice in the Champions League.

Feyenoord coach Robin van Persie already spoke out about Redmond’s future. He hoped that the striker would stay in Rotterdam.

“I also read Bournemouth, Milan. A nice list. We hope that Zepi will extend his contract with us. We have been in contact about that. For quite some time now. Our position remains the same. We hope that he chooses us.”
