Paris travelled to Birmingham to face Aston Villa in the second-leg of their Champions League quarterfinal. The Parisians came out victorious 3-1 in the first-leg at the Parc des Princes last weeks thanks to goals from Désiré Doué, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes.
Luis Enrique and his side have a solid advantage, but will need to be careful against a side that defeat many top Europeans teams in their stadium in this Champions League campaign. Ahead of this crucial game, the Spaniard coach will be able to count on all his players, including Marquinhos who is coming back from suspension.
Ousmane Dembélé: " No, there's still a long way before we win the competition. What I am most excited about is collective trophies with the team. That is what always motivated me since my childhood. Winning a title with the Paris Saint-Germain, maybe a Champions League would be amazing, even more because it would be the first. But we will go step by step, tomorrow we have a big game to play before thinking about other games."
Ousmane Dembélé: " I think it is good because the team has a lot of personality. They do not let go until the end. The coach is always telling us to never give up, to always believe whatever happens in the game and to stay focus on what he tells us to do. And I think it is the personality of the team, whether it is the youngsters or the more experienced players, we give everything until the end and try to overcome even when we are loosing."
Luis Enrique: " Competing at a stadium with the traditions that Villa Park has is fantastic. We love playing football, we love playing at home and away. Our players are used to playing at top level stadiums, and we hope it will be an evening of exciting football that we can enjoy. That is certainly not an issue, but a source of motivation for us."
Luis Enrique: " It is like when you say that one team is favourite before the match. There are all sorts of favourites being knocked out already. I think we were better than Aston Villa in the first-leg and that we deserved to win, but that story is over. The next story is the second-leg. Who will be better? Who will win the game? Everything is to play for.
"Of course, we have a lead, but that is not part of our philosophy or what we want to achieve as a team. In terms of playing for a draw. If Aston Villa are better than us and score more goals and win the game, it is what it is. Tomorrow, we will need to show that we are good enough to reach the semifinals. That is what we need to show."
