Atlético Madrid outraged after Real Sociedad fans chant ‘Griezmann d*e’ | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid took on Real Sociedad in San Sebastián on Sunday, and one of the main talking points took place off the pitch and in the stands.

Reports indicate that during the tie at the Reale Arena Real Sociedad fans were heard chanting ‘Griezmann die’ at the recently-retired French international.

Antoine Griezmann of course played for Real Sociedad between 2010 and 2014, making over 200 appearances for the Basque club.

As per COPE, Atlético Madrid are understandably outraged at these chants, asking that they be condemned in the same manner as chants against Thibaut Courtois were during the Madrid derby.

The reports indicate that the chants originated from a group of fans as opposed to an individual, and at this point in time Real Sociedad have yet to comment.

This news comes of course just a day after La Liga have started to take action on Atlético Madrid ultras group ‘Frente Atlético’, for their inexcusable actions during the Madrid derby.

This news continues a worrying trend of crowd disorder in Spanish football, where there are new incidents taking place seemingly every week.
